Many organizations are unsure where to begin when tackling questions about sustainability. The Compass Group works with building owners and managers to assess the readiness of their portfolios against the LEED rating systems by helping them with LEED assessments. We provide clients with a clear picture of their current status and recommendations for a path forward toward their goals. The Compass Group has been recognized as a LEED® Proven Provider™ for the Operations and Maintenance rating system family by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
The Process
Based on the data we receive in response to an initial questionnaire, The Compass Group looks at several key sustainability measures for each building and site, such as energy and water efficiency. A site meeting is usually held in order to obtain any missing information and to discuss the building and operations in greater detail. We then compare the building’s current status to LEED requirements and prepare a scorecard that indicates the ease or difficulty of earning various certification levels. A final report is presented to the client for review.
The Outcome
Our gap analysis provides clients with the information they need to determine whether, when, and how to move forward with LEED certification. Our assessments provide the basis for sound sustainability planning at the building and portfolio level.
