The Compass Group works with building owners and managers to assess the readiness of their portfolios against the LEED rating systems. We provide clients with a clear picture of their current status and recommendations for a path forward toward their goals.

The Compass Group guides building owners and managers through the LEED certification process at a certification level that makes sense for them, based on goals discussed during the gap analysis or at the beginning of the certification process. We make certification as easy and streamlined as possible by providing simple tools that guide clients through the process and by handling the entire interface with GBCI.

For clients that have already achieved LEED certification and want to build on their successes, The Compass Group offers LEED recertification consulting services. We work with clients to identify opportunities for new credits to achieve and we help to put in place mechanisms to further institutionalize sustainability practices and reporting structures.

The US EPA’s ENERGY STAR® platform provides a mechanism for organizations to quantify a building’s energy, water, and emissions efficiency compared to similar buildings. ENERGY STAR® is the preferred platform for the USGBC’s LEED for Existing Building (LEED-EBOM) program, Better Building Challenge and government mandated energy disclosure programs. The Compass Group assists clients with all aspects of ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager. We guide clients in putting in place programs for tracking the key metrics associated with Energy Star certification and integrating those metrics with the organization’s larger sustainability program. Including a web-based portfolio management dashboard updates the energy and water data within Portfolio Manager that is automatically collected from the utility.

Performance metric tracking is an ongoing service for those clients that are working toward LEED recertification or who simply want to keep their sustainability performance up between certifications. The Compass Group provides clients with tools that make tracking simple and straightforward. By providing third-party review of performance data, we help clients ensure that they are on track to meet their goals.

The Compass Group’s emissions assessment not only measures the carbon dioxide emissions generated by buildings and business operations, but also that of all other greenhouse gases (GHGs). This assessment is more than an emissions calculation. It can provide guidance for mapping your path to greater sustainability and identify cost saving opportunities.

Sustainability strategic planning is for the client who is looking for a sustainable vision into the future. The Compass group will facilitate the process and provide a written “roadmap to sustainability.”

The Compass Group works with clients to measure and report their climate change, water, and forest-risk data to the Carbon Disclosure Project. The CDP is an internationally recognized climate change reporting framework.

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) allows organizations to communicate openly about sustainability, providing a reporting system that enables all companies and organizations to measure, understand and communicate four key areas of their performance and impacts: economic, environmental, social and governance.
